Introduction to Youth Work

A 6 module course with an optional introductory award assessment, endorsed by LCVYS and LYA.

This is a free to bona-fide voluntary and community groups in Lincolnshire. Organisation from outside Lincolnshire can book places for £150 per learner.

 

2 Day Paediatric First Aid

A 2 day course accredited by ABC First Aid & Safety Training LTD. The course is free for LCVYS members

C Card Training (free)

Organisations will need to meet quality standards in order to deliver this training. Lcvys will offer support to groups to enable them to meet these standards.

Target group
A half day course for workers working with young people aged 13 to 19 years of age
Aim
To provide participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to deliver the C Card registration interview with young people aged between 13 and 19.

Objectives
To have an understanding of the Teenage Pregnancy Initiative and how this fits in with their organisational objectives, including the Sex and Relationships policy and the C Card Quality Standards
To have an understanding of the law in relation to the Sexual Offences Act, Confidentiality, the Fraser Guidelines and the Safeguarding Sexually Active Young People’s Policy
To be able to use condoms effectively and impart this information to young people
To be able to provide a Chlamydia Screen test
To be able to provide a pregnancy test and signpost young people to appropriate support services
To understand the concept of ‘Delay’ and how to support young people to make healthy choices about their sexual health
To be able to effectively signpost young people to the appropriate support services

Lcvys also offers a variety of courses free to the voluntary and community sector including PTTLS, health and safety, managing challenging behaviour, neuro linguistic programming, engaging volunteers, money matters and many more.
