Membership Terms & Conditions

A membership infrastructure organisation established to co-ordinate, support and act as the voice of the Voluntary Sector of the Youth Service in Lincolnshire on behalf of voluntary and community youth organisations.  It seeks active partnerships with other parties to help and advance the education of young people so as to promote their potential development physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually, as individuals, as responsible citizens, and as members of their local, national and international communities through support to, and encouraging quality provision by, member organisations involved in the personal development of young people.

Please Note

The LCVYS Constitution stipulates that membership is open to organisations that are approved by the Trustees (voluntary and community sector organisations who are providing services for children or young people) and organisations that meet the Charity’s Objects, namely:

“To help and advance the education, personal and social development of young people so as to promote their potential development physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.  Where it is able, the Charity seeks to combat discrimination on the grounds of sex, gender, age, marital status, responsibility for dependants, race and ethnic origin, beliefs, sexual orientation and disabilities.”

The LCVYS Constitution stipulates that Trustees may only refuse an application for membership if, acting reasonably and properly, they consider it to be in the best interests of the Charity to refuse the application.  Applicants will be notified in writing of the reasons for the refusal within twenty-one days of the decision being passed.

Associate Membership is deemed as open to local bodies concerned with young people but not eligible for Full Membership.
